Why are people so sure Halo will be ported to PC?

These are just my opinions, but why do people so convinced that Halo is coming to the PC (and Mac) platforms. Especially so soon. And the only information about a port has been incredibly vague remarks from a few Bungie employees. I've heard nothing from Microsoft. And I doubt if a port were done, Microsoft would sub-contract it to be done by a 3rd party developer. It takes a lot of work to port a console game to PC, and Microsoft would surely rather have Bungie focusing on the XBox. I'd predict that fall 2003, Halo for PC will ship. But it'll probably be based more on the upcoming Halo adaption for Microsoft's XBox live online service.
